Comic-Con VR activation + a new play reading
Here are two very different things that I contributed to, both happening right now:
The first is at Comic-Con, where a VR escape room that I helped create with VR Playhouse is premiering. The experience was made to promote the second season of the AT&T show Mr. Mercedes. It's based on a series of novels by Stephen King so, naturally, it's scary stuff. I wrote the dialogue and helped script the narrative and design the puzzles for the game, which challenges players to escape from the underground lair of the show's antagonist. It's good, creepy fun and it'll soon be out on Viveport for those who can't make it to San Diego. For those who can, you can make reservations here: http://start.att.net/exclusive/audience/mr-mercedes/comic-con
The second is a new play reading coming up this Saturday afternoon, July 21, at 2pm. This is part of Boston Court Pasadena's annual New Play Reading Series. The play, Pairi Daiza, is written by Nahal Navidar and is an incredibly personal and intimate story of love and motherhood, set against the backdrop of the Iran-Iraq War in the early '80s. The reading is the culmination of a one-week workshop where I served as production dramaturg. Reservations are free if any of you out there would like to attend: http://bostoncourtpasadena.org/events/14th-annual-new-play-reading-festival/
