An end-of-the-year update

Hello there

I just wanted to take this chance to promote a few shows I worked on that are still running as well as start to look ahead to some exciting opportunities coming up next year. So, first, shows to see now!:

Safe Harbor, by Tira Palmquist

This world premiere production, produced by Lower Depth Theatre Ensemble and directed by Anita Dashiell-Sparks, runs until Dec 15 with shows on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. As a dramaturg, I worked on the development of this script for a few years now, participating in a number of readings and workshops along the way. It's a powerful play focused on the victims of child sex trafficking in this country and the urgent fight so many undertake to help heal them. I urge you all to check it out.

The Wrong Kind of People, by George Corbin

This play, which was developed in the Robey Theatre Company's Playwrights Lab, which I have overseen since 2006, has its world premiere run at the Los Angeles Theater Center close this coming weekend, December 8. It's a fun night of theater, telling the very funny story of a group of guests and employees at the fictional Guardian Hotel in 1940s-era Los Angeles and their misadventures.

Workshop reading of Cowboy Elektra, Rogue Artists Ensemble

And in the coming months, I'm excited to continue my work with Rogue Artists Ensemble on their Cowboy Elektra, a new musical based on the Elektra myth and set in the Wild West. I'll also be working on Lavender Men, written by Roger Mason and premiering at Skylight Theater in April, and I'll be returning to dramaturg another production with Theatre Dybbuk. Their world premiere, Breaking Protocols, opens next August.
